In the summer of 1986, a small German label released a 7-inch single of Absolute Grey performing a live version of the Dream Syndicate song "Tell Me When It's Over" that Steve Wynn himself endorsed, comparing it to the Jefferson Airplane at the Fillmore West!
The B-side was a song called "Gardens" (an original song by Absolute Grey's Beth Brown & Mitch Rasor) but with a strong "Emergency Third Rail" Rain Parade vibe, Nigel Cross of Bucketful of Brains loved both songs and arranged for this '45 rpm single to be released. This is the first time, the single has been available in a digital format - the original single never made it to American record stores.

"Tell Me When It's Over" was mixed live by Mark Theobald and taken from a video by Russ Lunn - at the Rochester, NY club Scorgies on May 25th, 1984 "Gardens" was written by Beth Brown and Mitch Rasor - recorded by Absolute Grey in a studio in the summer of 1985.
